Pompano Permit on Fishbites

Rob F caught this solid Permit casting the surf off of Pompano Beach, FL with Fishbites® Long Lasting EZ Flea on a Dropper Rig last weekend. Patience & persistence along with this tough bait and its Long-Lasting Formula all came together for a great catch!
Here’s what Rob told Fishbites about his day:
“Conditions are tough. Wind from the water, rough surf, and seaweed. My rig holds bottom with 4oz pyramid sinker and I move around to find mostly clean patches of water. Catch a small fish and release thinking it was a pompano. I stick it out for a couple more hours when suddenly my reel starts screaming. An awesome fight later I land this beautiful permit. My first. No measurements because I take a couple pictures and release the tired but healthy fish. I am extremely impressed with Fishbites.”

E-Z Flea can be used on a bare hook or as a trailer on a jig or skirt. Each bait strip is 1/2″ wide and about 12″ long. Use them to catch a wide variety of saltwater species. The Longer Lasting formula features a cloth binder in the middle of the bait that keeps it on the hook despite the efforts of notoriously toothy bait stealers. While the gel is designed to work in all water temperatures, it’s best to use in water temperatures above 65F. (2 baits per pack)
