Fishbites® (Carr Specialty Baits, Inc.) Announces New Shoreline Showdown Surf Fishing Tournament Series with a Championship Invitational

St. Augustine, Fla. – April 22, 2024 – Fishbites is excited to present the first-ever surf fishing tournament series with a championship invitational tournament. This tournament will boast the largest cash payouts in surf fishing tournament history with over $75,000 in cash payouts throughout the series.

“We wanted to create a tournament for the everyday angler. Surf fishing is so accessible for anglers of all ages, from 8 to 80 years old, and it’s fun, relaxing, and a great way to spend time with the family on the beach,” said Brett Burford with Fishbites.

The series kicks off with the first tournament in St. Augustine on Saturday, April 27th. Anglers will bring pompano and whiting to weigh-in from 1pm to 4pm at the Fishbites Trading Post in St. Augustine but the fun starts on Friday evening with an angler’s meeting and on-site registration. This Friday night, April 26th, Fishbites and the Fishbites Trading Post along with the tournament sponsors will host an angler’s get-together from 5pm to 7pm with the angler’s meeting to follow. Mike Cook, the St. Augustine Sandman will be playing live music and Saucey Pig will be serving up BBQ. The tournament sponsors will have booths set-up and they include: Okuma Fishing, Florida Insider Fishing Report, The Sinker Guy, DS Custom Tackle, Ike Jime Florida, Over the Bar Rods, Benji’s Beach Wheels, Costa Sunglasses, Pelagic Fishing Gear, Surf Hippie Phishing, Danco, and Angler’s Fish N Mate. All events are open to the public.

The series will cover the state of Florida and the championship will circle back to St. Augustine in December. Upcoming stops include Fort Walton Beach on May 18th, Melbourne Beach on October 19th, and Jensen Beach on November 16th.
